Summer Schools

SWEETS Summer School on Experimental Methods for Scholarship Research. Supported by C-BEAR and NCRM. I have established (together with my colleague Annika Johnson from Bristol) a 3-day methods training designed for teaching fellows or those on the education track in economics departments. This was run for the first time in 2025 and extensions are currently under development.

C-BEAR Summer School – Introduction to Experimental Methods in Social Sciences. I have led sessions in this summer school in the 2024 and 2025 iterations, with a focus on experimental methods used in economics and lab experiments.

Regional Workshops/Conferences

Southwest Workshops In Economics Education, Teaching and Scholarship (SWEETS) annual workshop. I have organised the annual SWEETS workshop in 2024 where participants from economics departments from around the Southwest (Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Bath, Exeter, Plymouth and Reading) come together to discuss the future of economics education. I continue to support the annual iterations of this workshop, with the 2025 workshop taking place at the University of Bristol and the 2026 workshop being planned at the University of Exeter.

Institutional Workshops

Department Education Workshop – University of Southampton. I have organised and led the departmental workshop for the Department of Economics at the University of Southampton from 2021-2024. This was a one day event where staff on both the education and research tracks showcase their education delivery and innovations for the purposes of sharing of best practice.

Following its success, I was asked to scale the format across the School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences, and since 2025 it has run as the School Education Workshop, bringing key education topics such as GenAI, the changing HE landscape, and effective assessment and feedback to staff School-wide.
